Beyond Talk Therapy

As opposed to most forms of therapy, EMDR does not require talking in detail about the distressing event or completing homework between sessions. Clients are drawn to EMDR therapy for this reason — they do not have to open up old wounds or revisit the trauma. EMDR resolves unprocessed traumatic memories, allowing the brain to resume its natural healing process, leading to a decrease in disturbing symptoms and increasing peak performance.
